ICANN launches new generic Top-Level Domains (gTLDs)

ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) has launched a new generic Top-Level Domain Programm in order to introduce new generic Top Level Domains (TLDs) and increase competition and choice. A TLD is an Internet domain name extension such as „.com“, „.net“ or „.org“. Currently, ICANN is receiving request for new generic Top-Level Domains.
